Named ‘The rasta who revolutionized Latin Rock’ by Rolling Stone magazine Argentina, Fidel Nadal is an Afro Argentinean MC and a force in Latinx music. Over the past thirty years he has developed an international career that includes collaborations with Manu Chao, Michael Rose, Sizzla, Alborosie, and many others. He’s also one of the pioneers of the Rock Mestizo movement of the 1990’s, where bands like Mano Negra (fronted by Manu Chau) and Maldita Vecindad flourished alongside Nadal’s pioneering group Todos tus Muertos. Today, he announces a new collaboration with Miami based producer Mr. Pauer — both Nadal and Mr. Pauer are Latin Grammy nominees.

Toto Gonzalez, a.k.a. Mr Pauer is a pioneer in the new wave of Latin electronica. From his Wynwood design district studio, he has crafted collaborations with Diplo, Daddy Yankee, and Los Amigos Invisibles; developing an international career around his Sonido Electrópico: The electronic-tropical sound of Miami.

In Mr. Pauer’s own words Electropico is “a fusion of electronic dance music mixed with music genres originated between the Tropic of Cancer and Tropic of Capricorn like Salsa, Zouk, Reggae, Cumbia, Dancehall, Merengue, Kuduro, and Reggaeton” — a great match for Nadal’s versatility and open spirit of collaboration.

About a year ago both artists signed a collaboration agreement with Odelia Artists, a Toronto based music agency working with several Latinx artists including Brazilian hip-hop star Emicida, urban Andean trio Femina, and Venezuelan roots singer Betsayda Machado, amongst others.

With concerts confirmed in roughly a dozen US cities, the tour will start at The Cedar Cultural Center’s Global Roots Festival on Monday, September 23 with the support of Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation.

Other free shows during the tour will include a concert at Navy Pier during Chicago World Music Festival on Sunday September 29th and Washington DC’s Millenium Stage at the Kennedy Center on Tuesday October 1st.
